Edgefield, SC (PRWeb) March 16, 2007 -- Quail Unlimited will provide seminars on Private Land Programs and projects for private land owners at its summer EXPO. Aaron Jeffries, Missouri's Upland Game Coordinator will present the seminars for all attendees.

"The significance of Private Lands in the survival of upland game is recognized by all levels of conservation from state and federal agencies to organizations leading the charge like Quail Unlimited" stated Craig Alderman, Director of Marketing for QU. "Educating, organizing and assisting private land owners in habitat management is a high priority with QU. We are therefore, very excited to offer a leading conservationist, state leader and a very knowledgeable individual on private land programs, Aaron Jeffries, Missouri Upland Game Coordinator to our attendees at the Heartland Wildlife EXPO, July 19th to the 22nd, at the Overland Park Convention Center, Overland Park, Kansas" said Alderman. "His seminars on "Wildlife Projects Private Land Owners can Do" is a must for anyone interested in maximizing their lands potential for upland game" emphasized Alderman.

"The importance of Private Land Management in today's overall habitat landscape cannot be over emphasized, it is the hope of many wildlife species for our future" said Jeffries. With an average of 97% of all lands in Missouri in private land ownership, a trend reflective of the entire country, many states are dedicating expert staff to address the needs and options for this important segment. Aaron Jeffries is such an individual. Very knowledgeable on habitat requirements and a very active hunter conservationist himself, Jefferies lives the role with 140 acres of land he proudly tells is a quail and rabbit haven.

QU, through its dedicated chapter members coast to coast, is leading the charge to restore the natural habitat of wild quail, working with private landowners as well as state and federal agencies across the country with unprecedented partnerships. By putting on local events and fundraisers, QU chapters raise conservation dollars that are then used for on the ground projects in their area.

Alderman pointed out "Aaron's great knowledge of the various private land owner coop programs and initiatives makes him a superb source of information for private land owners to obtain financial assistance". "His passion clearly comes through when you talk with Aaron, and we could not be more pleased that he will share his knowledge with attending private land owners or those that want to obtain critical information for proper habitat management" concludes Alderman.

Jeffries obtained a B.S. in Plant Science and a Masters in Fisheries and Wildlife from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He has been with the Missouri Department of Conservation for six years as a biologist for both private and public lands and a government liaison at the state and federal levels. Jeffries was recently selected as the Department's Upland Game Coordinator and Government Relations Specialist. Aaron resides with his wife, Leslie, and two sons in Jefferson City, Missouri and journeys regularly to their family farm in Osage County to enjoy working the family German Shorthairs on their 140 acres.

Quail Unlimited (QU) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the restoration of habitat for wild quail. Its almost 300 chapters nationwide raise local project dollars for on-the-ground projects, including private and public land management with banquets, auctions, sporting clay events and more. QU has a highly trained staff of biologists, state and regional directors and dedicated members that work with private landowners and state and federal agencies to restore quail populations. In 2005, Quail Unlimited chapters and partners invested over $2.2 million dollars in quail habitat improvements. For more information on QU, the EXPO and membership go to the website at www.qu.org .
