Jewelry Findings Manufacturer Donates Rare Print of Antique Etching to Attleboro Rotary Auction

Guyot Brothers hopes to lend support to the local Rotarians who have made many contributions to the city of Attleboro as well as on national and international levels.

(PRWeb) March 16, 2007 -- The 50th Annual Rotary Auction, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Attleboro, will take place on March 19, 2007. As an Attleboro business with roots extending over 100 years, Guyot Brothers has enjoyed particpating in the auction for many years, usually with a sterling silver brooch or earrings, made with jewelry findings manufacturerd by the company, however, this year bring the 50th anniversary of the auction, the company has chosen to donate a rare print from an antique copper plate etching, hand engraved by the founder of the company, Numa Guyot. The etching is dated 1892 and it is an extraordinarily detailed piece of art.

"Guyot Brothers Co., Inc. was founded on the creative genius, talent, and attention to detail that Numa possessed. Numa came to America at the turn of the 20th century with only his tools, and a desire to take part in the promise that America offered. Four generations later, we are proud to continue the tradition of manufacturing high quality, detailed decorative brass stampings for the costume jewelry and related arts trades," stated Andrea Guyot Twombly, Vice-President of the company.

"By donating this enchanting print to the Rotary auction, we are able to take part, even if only in a small portion, in some of the many ways the Rotary Club of Attleboro benefits our small city, some of which include scholarships, Attleboro Special Olympics, local soup kitchens, project D.A.R.E., Christmas for Kids, and the Attleboro Art Museum.

Nationally, New Orleans hurricane victims and the Cancer Walk were helped by member donations, as well were international efforts including The Pure Water Campaign and the Polio Eradication Program.

This year's auction will be broadcast live on Attleboro's local Comcast cable television station and as always will generate local excitement as the bidding proceeds.
