Lice Control - The Bay Area's Only Head Lice Removal Clinic Offers Free Head Lice Screenings for One Day Only

Lice Control will hold a one-day only, free head lice screening event in the San Francisco Bay area on Saturday, April 14, 2007. One lucky winner will win an Apple ipod in a drawing at the event.

Castro Valley, CA (PRWeb) March 19, 2007 -- Lousy lice best beware, here comes Lice Control. On Saturday, April, 14 from 10:00am - 3:00pm, Lice Control will be offering free head lice screenings to concerned parents and their children. The screenings will take place at 3189 Castro Valley Boulevard Castro Valley, CA 94546.

On top of offering the free screenings, each family will receive a Lice Control prevention kit. The kit contains a patented comb, 100% natural, non-toxic lice spray, plus educational materials for parents. Also, each family will be registered to win an Apple ipod.

Now this may not seem like a great way to spend a Saturday, but finding out that your child has head lice can be much worse. "We decided to hold this free lice screening event to help parents take a proactive approach to lice prevention," says Ray Ruiz, Owner of Lice control.

Lice Control opened their clinic earlier this year and quickly gained the praises of local families and schools. Schools in the Bay Area have been recently debating the "no-nit" policy, meaning if a child is found to have head lice at school, they must be immediately removed from school. "Our goal is to be a partner in the community, regardless of the outcome of the no-nit policy debate," continues Mr. Ruiz.

Lice Control, in business for over five years, takes pride in turning what can be a very stressful situation into a pleasant, some may even say fun experience. The clinic looks more like a tech toy store than a clinic. A flat screen television plays the latest kids shows and Game Boys help pass the time. "We did not know what to expect", says Stephanie Farry, the mother of a six year old. "When we got here everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. We actually had a good time", continues Ms. Farry.

Head lice are a very common problem among school-aged children. Based on national statistics, millions of people contract head lice annually; thousands of cases are expected in the Bay Area in 2007. Though head lice are not dangerous, they are annoying and take away from valuable school time.

Appointments are highly recommended, however walk-ins are welcome. Call (510) 727-1280 to schedule an appointment or to find out more.
