Richmond, VA (PRWeb) March 26, 2007 -- ImTypeFree.com, an online Diabetes community and information resource center, announces the 1st annual Living Type Free Diabetes Recipe Contest. The Living Type Free Diabetes Recipe Contest is awarding $100 worth of prizes to the first place winner and various other prizes to recipes that receive an honorable mention. All winning recipes will be featured on the www.ImTypeFree.com website.

Rules

All contestants must register and enter their recipe at the ImTypeFree forums at www.imtypefree.com to qualify for this contest.

Contestants are allowed to enter up to three recipes, one for each mealtime; breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Contestants must briefly explain why their recipe entry is healthy for diabetics.

The Living Type Free Diabetes Recipe competition begins March 26, 2007 and the deadline for recipe entry is April 30, 2007 at 11:59pm PST.

Winners of the recipe contest will be chosen by the ImTypeFree staff based on member ratings and the nutritional benefits of the recipe.

Winners will be announced May 15, 2007 at the ImTypeFree website.

"So many people battling Diabetes don't know what they should eat," said Ann-Marie Stephens, Co-founder of ImTypeFree. The Living Type Free Diabetes Recipe Contest encourages recipes that follow the traditional ideas of managing Diabetes; but also welcomes recipes that offer additional dietary suggestions that may have been overlooked by traditional medicine. This contest is designed to inform diabetics about how healthy eating can be a delight and to encourage culinary creativity in the diabetic community and in the community of those trying to prevent the disease.
