Two Be, or Not Two Be: That is the Question Ever felt completely overwhelmed by the singles scene in Tampa Bay? You're not alone. If you are fed up with spending countless hours looking at online profiles, or perusing local nightclubs in an effort to find "that special someone," perhaps you should meet Marco Iannella, founder and chief matchmaker of 2 for Lunch, LLC. Tampa, FL (PRWeb) March 30, 2007 -- Ever felt completely overwhelmed by the singles scene in Tampa Bay? You're not alone. If you are fed up with spending countless hours looking at online profiles, or perusing local nightclubs in an effort to find "that special someone," perhaps you should meet Marco Iannella, founder and chief matchmaker of 2 for Lunch, LLC.
Fortunately, he has launched a new service that might just be the solution for anyone who is looking for a little direction in the singles community.
Unlike Internet dating services such as eHarmony and Match.com, 2 for Lunch is a privately owned and operated boutique company, and is not franchised or commercialized. 2 for Lunch is a unique matchmaking service for busy singles. It doesn't accept just anyone as a member either. "We do extensive background checks, and I meet each client myself," Iannella says. Each candidate must complete a preliminary questionnaire, and based upon this information, Iannella determines if he or she is a good fit for the service. "We cater to intelligent, upscale, single professionals who are serious about finding the right person for a committed relationship," he says.
Following the questionnaire, candidates have a confidential meeting where they are carefully screened and evaluated based on appearance, personality, social compatibility and emotional availability. "I meet with the client for about an hour, and I can come up with matches based on that," Iannella says. But unlike other online dating services, 2 for Lunch uses no video library or Internet exposure. "I have the only picture of the candidate in my data base," he says. "It is more about matching personalities than matching looks."
2 for Lunch then works with them to create a profile of who they are, and whom they would like to meet. "We try and take the intimidating part out," Iannella says. "This is not about high-pressure sales. It is all about trust with the customers." 2 for Lunch clients have ranged in age from 24 to 65, though Iannella says most of the people he works with are between the ages of 30 and 45. "About 90 percent of them have already tried other dating services," he says. "Tampa is long overdue for this one."
After they have set up a profile, Iannella uses clients' criteria to find appropriate matches. Clients can go on dates when and if they are ready. "We contact both parties beforehand, and then we recommend a date that will appeal to both of them," he says. "I don't force dates on people."
2 for Lunch offers two packages, 5 or 10 introductions. Both are under $1000. "Similar dating services have been known to charge an upwards of $1500 dollars," he says. "I feel that having smaller, more affordable packages appeals to a larger demographic. There are a lot of white collar professionals that are on the cusp and might not be inclined to experience our service due to an expensive client fee. Our goal is to help people find long lasting relationships, not overcharging," says Iannella.
So what sort of success does 2 for Lunch have matching compatible couples? "I haven't had any complaints yet," Iannella says. "Everybody comes out of a date with something." Often his clients will meet over coffee or lunch, hence the name of his company. "I wanted to call it something casual, and '2 for Lunch' sounded right. Instead of an entire evening out, a lot of people will meet over lunch. "I guarantee at least one quality date a month. We do the hard part for you. We develop personal introductions on your behalf, so that you can enjoy the dating scene while seeking your special someone," says Iannella.
Marco Iannella had previously worked in the hospitality industry. "I have done everything in the industry from bartend to general management. "I've seen and experienced first hand the frustration in trying to meet someone in Tampa Bay's singles scene" he says. "I've always been a good judge of character, and just like any business venture, this is about having good common sense and finding out what a client's needs are." These days, Iannella will meet between 25 to 50 contacts every week.
So if you are looking for casual, quality dates with other intelligent, single professionals, 2 for lunch might be the answer to all of your dating worries. "This is a very personal service," Iannella says. "We are genuinely interested in finding the best match for each of our clients." This may be what Tampa Bay singles have been waiting for.
