Credit Counseling Industry Trade Association Announces Conference Program

The American Association of Debt Management Organizations (AADMO), the largest trade association for the credit counseling industry, has announced the program sessions for its Spring Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 10 and 11, 2007.

(PRWeb) April 2, 2007 -- The American Association of Debt Management Organizations (AADMO), the largest trade association for the credit counseling industry, has announced the program sessions for its Spring Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 10 and 11, 2007.

According to Mark Guimond, Executive Director of the AADMO, "We chose the theme "Surviving in the New World" because this is an important time for all credit counseling agencies to appreciate the changes they need to make to their business models to be successful in the future. The AADMO Spring Conference is essential education directed at the future of the entire industry."

"The expansion of the IRS audits by another 80, to a total of 163, brings the realization that the vast, vast majority of the entire industry will be scrutinized. The IRS has made their view of the law clear and credit counseling agencies need to know how to survive in the post-audit industry. Couple the audits with the looming effective date of H.R. 4 and there are significant changes that agencies must make to survive and be legally compliant. This means agencies have to understand exactly what it means to be a taxable non-profit, a for-profit, the new limits on fair-share as tax-exempt and the multitude of state law changes ", said Guimond.

Sessions will include:
