(PRWeb) April 2, 2007 -- Armadillo Golf Players, Austin's premier Co-Ed golf league, starts its 2007 Spring league Sunday, April 15, at Onion Creek Club with a 4:30pm shot-gun start. The Spring league will run five consecutive Sundays through May 13.
Golfers play three five-week, 9-hole tournaments in a two-person team handicapped scramble format on Sunday afternoons during daylight savings time. The format is designed to be enjoyable for golfers of every skill level. Teammates alternate each week so in addition to great golf, players meet fellow professionals and friends in this fun and informal setting.
Registration is $199. League fee includes cart & green fees, range balls and prizes, which are awarded each week to the winning twosome, men's long drive, lady's long drive, closest to the hole and of course the Honorable Road Kill Award, for the team placing last.
Armadillo Golf Players premiered in May 2000. This Spring marks the 21st consecutive league. There is also an 18-hole annual Christmas Tee event; as well as charity tournaments, including the Rally for A Cure event to support breast cancer awareness and the Walk FORE Your Heart event to benefit the American Heart Association.
After seven years, Armadillo Golf Players remains Austin's most popular Co-Ed social and networking league for players of all abilities. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements regarding Summer and Fall leagues and upcoming tournaments.
