Sierra Club Appears On "Let's Talk Waterways" Radio Show

Monica Coleman, the host of the "Let's Talk Waterways" Radio Show is a Watershed Management Troubleshooter specializing in waterway clean-up and marine wildlife conservation. In her latest radio show, Ms. Coleman along with Joanna Winchester, a Sierra Club representative from their Washington, DC Chapter, explain how Sierra Club actively helps people in solving their waterway clean-up and marine wildlife conservation issues.

Washington, DC (PRWeb) April 4, 2007 -- Monica Coleman, an associate at Public Sector Consulting Group and host of the "Let's Talk Waterways" Radio Show sponsored by Internet Voices Radio (www.letstalkwaterways.com), announced Friday during the program that she recommends The Sierra Club as a viable membership organization to people interested in waterway clean-up and marine wildlife conservation efforts.

"Sierra Club is an organization that works effectively in providing valuable tools and opportunities that make a difference", Ms. Coleman said (www.sierraclub.org). During the show, Ms. Coleman talked about the national conference, known as "The Sierra Club Summit" and how in her experiences, she felt attendees walked away with important information and resources, meaningful networking opportunities, as well as being able to attend presentations by prestigious guest speakers like Robert Kennedy, Jr. and former Vice President Al Gore.

Special guest, Joanna Winchester, from the Washington, DC Chapter of the Sierra Club, appeared on the show and provided information on some of the types of programs that the Sierra Club offers at local Chapters (www.dc.sierraclub.org). "There are all types of programs that Sierra Club provides at the local level," Ms. Winchester explained, "whether you are interested in education and training, government affairs, our take-action programs, or nature hikes and outings. Membership is not required to participate in many of the activities", she added.

Some of the examples that Ms. Winchester referenced were the upcoming Step It Up rally, part of a nation-wide day of action, a clean-up on the banks of the Anacostia River scheduled for Earth Day, the chapter's recycling commitment for the internationally acclaimed Washington, DC Cherry Blossom Festival, and a nature hike named after The Sierra Club Founder, John Muir. "These are just a few examples of the types of programs at the Chapter level", Ms. Winchester stated. "For a more detailed list, they can consult the national website, or contact any chapter", she added.
