(PRWeb) April 6, 2007 -- Xemarc, LLC has expanded its product line and maintained its leading edge in producing innovative measurement tools for the radiological industry.

At the request of a number of major radiological concerns, Xemarc has developed a fully positional Measurement Calibration Marker (MCM) Stand to facilitate patient positioning of their MCMs, positioning in difficult places (e.g. between a patient's thighs), and to greatly diminish the chance of lost calibration objects. Xemarc's MCM is used as a calibration standard to correct for the enlarging of body parts inherit on radiographs produced by the penumbra effect, thus producing true sizing of the parts. This is extremely important in precise pre-surgical planning.

Last year, Xemarc successfully introduced their lightweight Measurement Calibration Marker (MCM) and easy to use, hygienic Adhesive Attachment Strips. Both products filled a great need within the radiological community that needed a precise, lightweight, easily placeable calibration object for use with all major brands of Digital Templating Software, DR (digital radiography)and CR (computed radiography).

The MCM Stand is made of radiolucent materials and is manufactured with either a Xemarc 25mm or 1 inch MCM permanently attached. The position of the MCM is only limited by the length of the flexible 18 inch radiolucent gooseneck. Custom requests for the length of the gooseneck can be accommodated at no additional charge (up to 30 inches).

In addition to the MCM Stands, Xemarc is also introducing radiopaque Rulers and Grids. These new products are manufactured on a flexible, radiolucent material and accurately etched with a radiopaque media (lead-free). Presently, Xemarc is manufacturing 150mm rulers and a 4"x4" Calibration Grid. Customers are using both products to accurately determine the size and location of lesions on x-ray, as well as to establish a general perspective of body part sizing. Custom sizing and radiopaque content is also available from Xemarc on these products. Visit www.xemarc.com for details.

Xemarc is also offering custom engineering on any radiopaque product that a customer may want to produce. Virtually any shape, text content, or object can be made or lettered with a radiopaque process and appear on an x-ray.
