Live Action Fantasy Role-playing returns to Eastern Massachusetts

Plymouth, MA -- December 2nd 2002 -- Epic Adventures, LLC / NERO Boston kicks off its Live Action fantasy role-playing campaign at the Camp Clark YMCA camp. This winter marks the first event in Eastern Massachusetts using the NERO International rules system since the early 1990s.

The NERO Rules system is the most popular live action fantasy role-playing system in the country, with over 30 chapters running Live Action" games around the country. These games take place in the same living breathing fantasy world. Players characters are tracked and a player can play the character that they have created in any of the NERO games the wish to visit, or make their home.

NERO, an acronym that stands for the New England Role-playing Organization, is a innovative concept in game playing. Under the unique NERO rules system an entire fantasy medieval town or world can be created.

The fantasy world in which the games are set is closer to the world of Middle Earth as seen in the motion Picture The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" than to any real place or time in history.

NERO Bostons game campaign takes place in the Duchy of Volta, a harsh and wild land filled with danger, magic and intrigue. The best way to describe Volta is: Northern Europe at the end of the Dark Ages and early Middle Ages". A wealth of opportunities exist for players in Volta, become a cunning merchant, a virtuous noble, a powerful mage, a compassionate healer, a skillful rogue, or a mercenary freebooter, the choice is yours!

To begin, you create character concept for a fantasy story and actually play the character. It is much like improvisational theater in that you have a framework created by the props and supporting characters and must develop your part as you progress through the storyline. Your character's attitudes, ambitions, and history are yours to define.

The NERO rules system allows for you to purchase skills for your character using character build points that you accumulate through attending events and adventuring. This means your character grows and develops both in its personal as well as its skill-set.
