Chicago Sportscast Network Founders Announce Expansion Plan, Open Call for Podcaster Auditions in 11 New Regional Markets

Groundbreaking company seeks die-hard sports fans to broadcast commentary on their favorite teams over the Internet.

Chicago, IL (PRWeb) April 13, 2007 -- The founders of the Chicago Sportscast Network, the world's first network of regional sports podcasts, are holding open auditions for new show hosts as a part of the newly created regional networks in 11 new markets including Boston, Denver, Los Angeles and New York. Sports fans across the country have a golden opportunity to have their opinion on everything related to their favorite hometown team heard by thousands of listeners each week.

Each regional hub for on-demand sports talk will be accepting auditions during the months of April and May for its soon-to-launch shows (called "podcasts"), which will be available for download for free via Apple iTunes as well as additional online outlets.

Dedicated, knowledgeable sports fans can audition to host the new podcasts by completing a simple online form, and upon completing the form, potential hosts can submit an audio portion via e-mail, telephone, or even by mailing in a demo CD. The selected podcaster(s) for each team will ultimately have the ability to share their wisdom (or dementia) 1 or more times per week to an interactive audience that is eager to listen and respond to what they have to say.

It's easy to audition. Just go to http://chicagosportscasts.com, select a region, and fill out the audition form. Groups of 2 or more fans are encouraged to apply, and though it is a plus, no previous broadcasting experience is necessary to audition.

What's in it for the new podcasters? Besides the great local and regional press coverage, podcasting on your favorite hometown team is an excellent opportunity to get recognition in the broadcasting field for your unique style and fresh perspective. In addition to having a new platform for your commentary, podcasters can have a blast interviewing celebrity fans, players, front office staff, and franchise fixtures. The Chicago Sportscast Network founders guarantee the selected podcaster(s) will be challenged and will have a lot of fun.

Each podcast will have its own interactive website that can be utilized to interact with other die-hard fans, hold weekly contests or giveaways, take opinion polls on your favorite team's players or performance, and much more. Unlike other radio or podcasting opportunities, each newly created regional sportscast network will share a generous percentage of any advertising revenue directly with its podcasters. Isn't it about time your thoughts on your favorite team's front office decisions paid part of your rent? We think so.

Auditions will be accepted through Monday May 14. Please note that we are looking to hire hosts for the MLB podcasts as soon as possible, potentially before this deadline.
