Munich, Germany (PRWeb) April 16, 2007 -- TPG The Project Group GmbH, the world's leading provider of Microsoft Project add-in products and a Microsoft Premier Project and Gold Certified Partner, today announced that it added a further product to its range with the TPG TimeSheetExtender. The new product enables detailed reporting on actuals and cost types via Microsoft Project Web Access, a key component of the Microsoft Enterprise Project Management solution for enterprise-wide project management. TPG TimeSheetExtender is available now from TPG.
Project staff regularly report their actual time worked to the relevant project manager, enabling him or her to pilot the project effectively. However, in the enterprise-wide Microsoft Project solution, Web Access only allows them to report a single value per task and working day. In addition, staff are unable to add any comments to the actuals they report. As a result, project data collection lacks detail and is incomplete.
"We kept hearing our customers say that they wanted a more flexible timesheet system," says Johann Strasser, Managing Director and Development Director at TPG. "The new Microsoft Office Project 2007 hasn't undergone any improvements in this area either. So we responded to our customers' requirements by developing our own solution, the TPG TimeSheetExtender."
Staff open the TPG TimeSheetExtender by double-clicking the task in the Project Web Access timesheet. A separate dialog box opens where staff enter the time they worked on the task. They can make several entries per task and per working day if required, and add a specific comment about each entry. This enables companies to keep tangible proof of performance - a benefit that can be of key importance to service companies. If necessary, staff can also report on travel and other costs incurred per task.
