Long Island Sailing School Offers Fractional Sailing Fractional sailing program offered by Port Sailing School provides customers with a one-sixth share in a beautiful 36-foot Beneteau sailboat for the season. Port Washington, New York (PRWeb) April 16, 2007 -- Port Sailing School, located here, announces announced a new fractional sailing program called Sailshare. This is an opportunity for sailors to have use of a sailing yacht at a fraction of the cost of owning one. The program is limited to six members sharing a like-new 36-foot 2002 Beneteau sailboat for an annual fee of $6500. The members have all the pleasure of ownership without the operating and maintenance expense associated with owning a boat.
The key to the Sailshare program is the I-Sail online reservation system that manages the boats usage equitably among the six members. Members are allocated a minimum 30 days of sailing for a season. Each day is divided into two, for day or evening sailing. This offers members a total of 60 sailing sessions which can be combined for weekend or weekly use.
The boat is ready to sail from April 1 through October 31. Start your membership at any time. Should you join after the April 1 start date, your membership extends into the start of next year's sailing season. Port Sailing School provides members with the equipment, launch service, fuel, and assistance to become familiar with the boat. Located at Brewer Capri Marina on Manhasset Bay, the school is close to New York City and offers the best sailing on western Long Island Sound. Member customers remark that Sailshare provides them with easy access to great sailing without the headache of maintaining and owning a boat.
Port Sailing School is member of the American Sailing Association providing sailing instruction for both adults and children. The school has a fleet of both day-sail and cruising sailboats ranging from 19-ft. to 36-ft. After completing the ASA Basic Keelboat course, new sailors can return to rent the boats they have learned to sail on. Other courses include: Children's Summer Program, Basic Cruising, Bareboat Chartering, Coastal Navigation, and the New York State Safe Boating course.
