(PRWEB) April 21, 2007 -- During this year's Foster Care Fortnight (May 14 - 27), the UK's leading independent fostering agency, Foster Care Associates (FCA) is hoping to raise the profile of fostering and attract new carers who believe they have the determination and passion to succeed in this role.
Being a foster carer can be challenging, but FCA Thames Valley believes the rewards are worth all the hard work. FCA ensures all its carers receive the necessary back-up and training to equip them for the job.
All FCA carers are supported with a 24-hour service which draws on expertise from a team of professionals including social workers, therapists, education professionals and support workers. On-going training is also fundamental to the support which FCA provides.
"Many of the youngsters who come into care with FCA display challenging behaviour and it can be a tough task helping them overcome their emotional hurdles. Here at FCA Thames Valley we ensure all our carers are fully equipped to cope, and understand the complexities of their role. As a team, our goal is to achieve positive outcomes for these vulnerable children and young people," says Sally Pitcher, FCA, recruitment manager, Thames Valley.
Anyone interested in finding out more about FCA and the opportunities available to foster carers should call FCA's Thames Valley office on 01296 628300 or the national freephone 0800 085 2225. Alternatively, visit the website www.thefca.co.uk.
