The Houston Card School to Hold Fundamentals of Contract Bridge Classes; Houston Bridge Expert Gary King to Teach Series

The Houston Card School announces an eight-class series on the Fundamentals of Contract Bridge to be held on Saturday mornings from 10AM - Noon beginning May 5, 2007. All classes will be held at the Houston Bridge Studio 9000 Southwest Freeway Suite 290; the registration fee is $90.00 and includes all materials. The series will be repeated in the fall on Wednesday evenings starting is early September.

Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 24, 2007 -- The Houston Card School announces an eight-class series on the Fundamentals of Contract Bridge to be held on Saturday mornings from 10AM - Noon beginning May 5, 2007. All classes will be held at the Houston Bridge Studio 9000 Southwest Freeway Suite 290; the registration fee is $90.00 and includes all materials. The series will be repeated in the fall on Wednesday evenings starting is early September.

Houston Bridge expert, Gary King, will facilitate the series. King has played competitive bridge since 1974 and has been teaching beginning and intermediate players for more than 15 years. For more than 10 years he published The Bridge Companion, a newsletter for the advancing bridge player which was distributed across the US. He currently serves as the bridge educator for the Houston Bridge Studio.

"It is an unbelievably perfect game," King said. "It involves teamwork, problem solving, deduction, deception, reasoning, planning, bravado, communication, nuance, and luck. In the United States it is estimated that 30 to 40 million people play."

The series will cover the complete fundamentals of the 80 years old game. It serves as the perfect introduction to contract bridge for the novice or as a review for those who have played but have never received formal instruction.

The classes will be held on the Saturday's of May 5th; 12th; 19th; 26th June 2nd; 9th; 16th and 23rd.
