December 9, 2002. JHSoftware today announced the release of Songs-DB 1.3 (http://www.songs-db.com). This all-in-one audio tool has already became popular among many music fans particularly for its easy of use and the number of features which help users to keep their collections in order.

Once Songs-DB finishes the initial scan of a hard drive for music files, it categorizes them based on various criteria such as artist, album, genre or the year the song came out. Then user can start creating different playlists or even so called auto-playlists. Other features include music files conversion (between MP3, WMA and WAV), mass renaming and tagging of files, digitally extracting audio CDs as well as acquiring information for such CDs from Freedb.

Songs-DB is a free software without any limitation on database size or number of files for mass functions. For real music enthusiasts there exists also Songs-DB Gold which offers some advanced features like cache, scripting or sleep function. This advanced version is available for only US$20.
