New York (PRWEB) May 1, 2007 -- The International ETF Community gathered in New York on April 26, 2007 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the industry. 38 Awards were presented during the awards dinner that was hosted by Exchangetradedfunds.com.

Industry participants from markets in China, Turkey, France, Germany, India, Hungary, United Kingdom, South Africa, Sweden and the United States were in attendance at the event.

"It was well attended by the International ETF Community," said Sharon Highland, President of Barak Asset Management.

"The Industry has really expanded on a global level," said Arlene Reyes, Chief Operating Officer of Exchangetradedfunds.com. "We will see more expansion in the global marketplace, more cross-listings and even though they are in different regions, there are some commonalities; regulatory issues must be addressed, investors need to be educated in the use of these products and these are a few of the issues that seem to be present in all these markets. This event is a great opportunity for the international ETF community to recognize innovation in the industry."
