Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- Gryphyn Works announced today successful results testing a new emergency communications alert system for Horizon Air. The testing took place during a three week period between March 27 - April 20, 2007, at random intervals to verify response times from Horizon Air employees system wide. Horizon will immediately begin using the system to communicate all future emergency alerts.

Over 400 emergency alerts were dispatched to employees' cell phones, emails and pagers located at primary and secondary hubs requiring the recipients to respond immediately using Gryphyn GSE Maintenance software via the internet. Automatically generated documentation of the alerts successfully recorded deploying the test messages within 10 minutes. Employee responses averaged 14 minutes.

The purpose of the testing was to ensure all essential Horizon personnel could be notified immediately of an emergency alert situation. Using Gryphyn GSE Maintenance software, the technology allows designated employees to receive the message via pagers, computers and cellular phones. An emergency message can be deployed in text and voice form by entering the emergency alert once in the system. A fully auditable trail is automatically created with each notification.

Gary Williams, Horizon's Director of Customer Service, stated, "We can use this emergency communications alert system wide to address very real concerns, such as deicer malfunctioning at one of our GSE stations or the need to communicate to 47 cities within 12 hours TSA's mandate of no lotions over 3 ounces in carry-on luggage. This communication system is a tremendous tool for Horizon."
