Latino Coalition Names Zerco As Technology Advisor For Secure ID In Immigration Reform Initiatives; Biometric-based ID Firm To Focus On Worker ID & Healthcare Optical Cards

TLC conference speakers included government and business leaders, including Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez; Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters; Republican Presidential Candidate and former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani; INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Nobel, U.S. Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), and Angela Braly, now Executive Vice President and as of June 1, President and CEO of WellPoint, Inc., the largest U.S. health benefits company.

Niotti-Soltesz and TLC conference participants also attended a White House Briefing with Secretary of Treasury Henry Paulson in addition to TLC meetings at Washington's Four Seasons Hotel this week.

On behalf of TLC, Niotti-Soltesz said Zerco's initial work will focus on two pilot programs utilizing its proprietary optical card technology in the development of worker identification cards and health cards.

Under the leadership of Barreto and De Posada, TLC monitors public policy at local, state and federal levels to determine the impact on the Latino communities as TLC builds bridges of understanding throughout America, where over 41 million Latinos represent 14 per cent of the U.S. population and have purchasing power of more than $1 trillion.
