IBG to Discuss Large-Scale Biometric Trade Studies Leading authority to address challenges in large scale multimodal biometric systems New York, NY (PRWEB) May 8, 2007 -- International Biometric Group (IBG) invites the public to join its upcoming teleconference, "Large-Scale Biometric Trade Studies." The teleconference takes place at 1:00PM Eastern Time, Thursday, 10 May 2007.
As large-scale U.S. ID programs such as Next Generation Identification (NGI), TWIC, Registered Traveler and US VISIT expand, it is critical to understand the trade off between performance metrics and lifecycle costs associated with fingerprint, face recognition, iris recognition and other biometric technologies.
This IBG teleconference will address performance topics in large-scale systems, including multimodal and multialgorithmic fusion, image quality weighting, template ageing, and demographic filtering.
IBG is a recognized authority on biometric performance and trade studies, as shown through the following experience:
- IBG's Comparative Biometric Testing program has included 60+ systems since 1998 and has been sponsored by Lockheed Martin, EDS, Microsoft, Honeywell, American Airlines, Fidelity, FSTC, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, and Visa. - IBG has conducted trade studies and fusion research involving millions of subjects and yielding billions of cross comparison scores. - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) selected IBG as the testing facility for initial QPL biometric testing.
This teleconference will be conducted by Michael Thieme, IBG's Director of Special Projects, who serves as editor of ISO/IEC 19795-2 "Biometric Performance Testing and Reporting Part 2: Test Methodologies."
