Schiller Enhances Connectivity to More Than 100 EMR Systems Schiller America, a leading international manufacturer and supplier of computer based Electrocardiographs, Spirometers, Patient Monitors and MRI Monitors, announced today that it will provide an a-la-carte connectivity solution with its devices, enhancing its existing connectivity to EMR systems. Miami, Florida (PRWEB) May 12, 2007 -- Schiller America, a leading international manufacturer and supplier of computer based Electrocardiographs, Spirometers, Patient Monitors and MRI Monitors, announced today that it will provide an a-la-carte connectivity solution with its devices, enhancing its existing connectivity to EMR systems.
"This interface tool enhances the already existing ability of our devices to interface in a number of ways with the multitude of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software vendors, whether they use HL-7, XML, DICOM or a custom interface," said Eddie Hernandez, IT Products Specialist for Schiller America.
Using this interface tool, Schiller's Pc-based systems, such as the AT-104, CS-200 and PC Spirometry can receive HL-7 ADT requests for examinations from an EMR or HIS system and automatically launch the application to perform the examination. Once completed, the HL-7 ORU examination results and waveform images can be automatically transferred to the patient's paperless medical record.
In addition, this solution extends to other popular models, such as the AT-2 Light, AT-2 Plus, AT-10, AT-10 Plus, AT 110, AT 102, SP-1 and Holter ECG/Ambulatory Blood Pressure units. It improves on the previous ability of these devices to connect with EMR systems by transmitting patient test results via the built-in serial port to an EMR when used in conjunction with Schiller's SEMA Data Management software.
A major advantage Schiller's solution has over its competition is that, with this enhancement tool, Schiller can quickly develop a customized software solution that meets the requirements of its customers while adapting to the EMR vendor's specifications, thereby not requiring the EMR company to make custom changes to its software.
