One Million for PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

Project PCOS announced The One Million for PCOS Campaign today to provide more services, support and awareness for polycystic ovary syndrome.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2007 -- To help bring more information about PCOS to the public and help support new initiatives, a 2008 conference and Worldwide PCOS Awareness Walk and educational materials, Project PCOS kicked off their One Million for PCOS Campaign today.

Since the Project PCOS website was unveiled in February of 2007, thousands of people have been flocking to the new site to utilize the FREE resources, tools and information about PCOS, PCOS Symptoms and PCOS Research.

Often unrecognized PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) can cause many physical and emotional manifestations. While many of these symptoms may not be evident to a friend or family member, women go through years of silent suffering with a myriad of daily battles including: fatigue, high blood pressure, acne, infertility, weight and obesity, hair loss, depression, insulin resistance, excess facial and body hair, high cholesterol and many other symptoms due to the hormonal imbalances created as a result of this endocrine disorder

For the up to 15% of women and girls with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome it is estimated less than half know they have it. Luckily more and more women are getting a diagnosis and the proper treatment however, Project PCOS is taking the necessary steps to ensure women with this syndrome do not remain a statistic but rather become informed consumers who are able to live healthier and happier lives with PCOS.

According to Project PCOS Founder Ashley Tabeling, this new campaign will be serving multiple purposes "Not only will One Million for PCOS raise awareness and funding for PCOS, it will give individuals, supporters, businesses and medical professionals an opportunity to share their thoughts, photos, ads, logos and mantras to help show the world one million reasons we should support PCOS Awareness, diagnosis and treatment."

The one million for PCOS Campaign aims to show one million reasons to support PCOS Awareness, through selling one million pixel blocks on an innovative page, that will display up to one million images, ads and text to support Project PCOS and PCOS Awareness.

Buying pixel advertisements start at just $1.00 for this campaign and are done automatically through the grid selection page. When a purchaser visits the grid page, they simply click on the unoccupied cell, upload text and images, add a url if applicable and purchase.

You may visit the new campaign on the Project PCOS Website http://1million.projectpcos.org and/or visit the Project PCOS Website http://www.projectpcos.org to learn more about PCOS.

Proceeds from one million for PCOS will assist with maintenance and upgrades to the site, a national PSA, educational materials, educational meetings and patient support.
