PDF is Not a One-Way Street Visual Integrity upgrades line of PDF conversion products adding more output formats and key new features that enable editing or inclusion of PDF in most applications. Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) May 16, 2007 -- Today, Visual Integrity upgraded its complete family of PDF conversion products to version 6.8. Improved products include PDF FLY, pdf2cad, pdf2image, pdf2picture, FLY SDK and FLY Batch. New features enable customers to convert their PDF files, forms and drawings into more formats with greater control over the editability and quality of the resulting files.
PDF FLY, used to re-purpose or edit PDF and PostScript files, has added two output formats, BMP and PostScript. Of the fifteen output formats supported, improvements have been made to the DXF, HPGL, TIFF, SVG, WMF, EMF and ASCII modules. More general enhancements include increased performance and throughput, selective page-range conversions, advanced font mapping options, watch folder support, intelligent object recognition, fine-tuning of text placement and layering based on colors for CAD formats.
pdf2cad, a specialized tool for engineers, based on the PDF FLY engine, now transforms PDF into HPGL as well as DXF. HPGL is a prevalent CAD storage format based on the Hewlett Packard plotting language. Improvements to pdf2cad drive intelligent transformation of the CAD drawing while retaining layers based on colors and recognizing the meaning of more shapes
pdf2image, used to generate sharp images from PDF files can now generate BMP files as well as JPEG, GIF and PNG. Settings are available during the conversion to select image type and ideal resolution for print or Web display.
FLY Batch and FLY SDK, for developers who need to batch automate format conversion or who need to integrate conversion capabilities into their applications, have been broadly enhanced. Areas of improvement include imaging clarity for fax applications, tighter text placement on forms, new input and output format and real-time scaling.
All products are available now for Micrsoft Windows, including Vista, Linux and UNIX directly from Visual Integrity or through its worldwide network of on-line resellers, corporate resellers and VARS. PDF FLY is priced at $395; pdf2cad costs $195. pdf2image and pdf2picture are $59 each or available bundled together for $99. FLY Batch starts at $795 for the FLY Batch Web Image Server and $2995 for the FLY SDK in either command-line or DLL versions. All products are available with Advantage Support, a paid yearly subscription service providing hot-line support and access to all updated and new versions at no additional charge. The Priority Engineering Program is available for developers who require assistance integrating format conversions into their process or application.
