PowerStar International Completes Purchase of Xpel Communications

PowerStar International Inc. (TSX-V: PWS) (PowerStar) has completed purchase of Xpel Communications AB, the Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of Wi-Fi wireless networks and digital signage.

Calgary, Alberta (PRWEB) May 16, 2007 -- PowerStar International Inc. (TSX.V: PWS) (PowerStar) has completed purchase of Xpel Communications AB, the Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of Wi-Fi wireless networks and digital signage.

Xpel Communications is the largest provider of public Wi-Fi internet access in the Swedish capital, Stockholm. Xpel's original business model was to provide free public access across the city whilst charging major anchor clients such as Skype and Aftonbladet for VOIP and news services. Powerstar is planning to introduce digital signage on the Xpel network and include Xpel's network into the roaming agreements of FatPort Corporation. Fatport is one of the largest hot spot operators in North America having 17 roaming agreements. Powerstar has entered into an agreement to acquire Fatport. Xpel's management team is committed to expand on the Stockholm network and to build networks in other European cities.
