Search Marketers Convene in Seattle June 4-5 for Inaugural Conference: Search Marketing Expo - SMX Advanced

Seattle's search marketing and advertising community looking forward to a new conference, Search Marketing Expo -SMX Advanced - which promises to be a premiere show for industry leaders

Redding, CT (PRWEB) May 17, 2007 -- Seattle can be cool in June, but things are bound to heat up on June 4 & 5 when the inaugural SMX Advanced brings together leaders in one of the hottest segments of the advertising market.

More than 500 advanced level search marketers are expected to turn out for Search Marketing Expo - SMX Advanced (http://searchmarketingexpo.com/smx_advanced07/), the new conference hosted by Search Engine Land and programmed by industry veterans Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman. SMX Advanced will take place at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center.

Think this is just another bunch of techies getting together? Think again.

This is the group that drives search marketing and advertising, a segment of the advertising industry that was estimated to be worth $6.5 billion in 2006 - and forecast to grow to more than $11 billion in 2011.

They've known for awhile why Bush is a "miserable failure" (http://searchengineland.com/070125-230048.php) in search terms - and why the White House had a hard time removing that stigma. They brought the National Pork Board to its knees when it tried to go after one of their fellow bloggers, and they elevated Stephen Colbert to the status of Greatest Living American (http://searchengineland.com/070420-121152.php)- in just four days.

More importantly, these are the leaders of an industry that help businesses large and small tap into the power of search marketing and advertising.

Search Marketing Expo - SMX Advanced, is programmed to provide attendees with educational sessions that are highly interactive, and designed "to generate a higher level of conversation," according to Danny Sullivan. There will be debates, forums, and interactive sessions (http://searchmarketingexpo.com/smx_advanced07/agenda.shtml) where attendees can speak directly with representatives from the search engines. And there's a special session, "Give it Up," where audience members will contribute tips and tricks of the trade; bloggers are on their honor *not* to report on this one.

Keynote speakers include Matt Cutts from Google's Webmaster Central and Satya Nadella, corporate vice president for Microsoft's Search & Advertising Platform Group.

SMX Advanced also provides several networking opportunities, starting with a reception the night before at the Odyssey Museum, hosted by Microsoft. On Monday, June 4, attendees are invited to a cocktail reception in the exhibit hall hosted by Yahoo! Search. Later in the evening, Google will hold a party on the rooftop of the Bell Harbor, complete with music, food, games, and, possibly a dunk tank.

SMX Advanced is the first in a series of conferences programmed by Search Engine Land and produced by Third Door Media. Additional conferences for 2007 include SMX Local + Mobile (Denver, October 1&2), SMX Social Media (New York, October 16 & 17), SMX Stockholm (October 31 & November 1) and SMX London (November 14 & 15). An industry-wide show, SMX - West, is scheduled for Feburary 26-28 in Santa Clara, CA.

Sullivan notes that search marketers will enjoy SMX Advanced, "because we're offering great content along with an exceptional conference experience."

Registration is limited, to provide for a more intimate and interactive experience -- but spaces are still available. For more information, go to www.searchmarketingexpo.com.
