Design-based animation and live action production company Global Mechanic has just completed a commercial for the new campaign to introduce the new look of The Globe and Mail entitled "More Life" for Naked Creative.

Boston, MA and Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 21, 2007 -- Design-based animation and live action production company Global Mechanic has just completed a commercial for the new campaign to introduce the new look of The Globe and Mail entitled "More Life" for Naked Creative.

Bruce Alcock was hired by Naked Creative in Toronto to work with the agency to design the look of and produce the tv part of the campaign. His vivid mixed-media style draws the viewer through a flowing transformational sequence that highlights the featured sections of the newspaper - all working to the beat of Vapor Music's brilliant original score. The entire campaign includes multiple TV spots as well as print and event creative. The campaign broke in April.

Using a combination of 2D and 3D software (Mirage, After Effects, Lightwave, Maya, Nikon Capture), the animators painted frame by frame on Wacom tablets. Director Bruce Alcock says "there's simply nothing as beautiful as hand-drawn movement - no key frames, no tricks, just pure design and drawing gives you amazing depth and quality."

Working as an animator and designer with Alcock on the campaign was one of Global Mechanic's directors Dirk Van de Vondel. Senior producer Tina Ouellette worked with lead animators Ken Meyer, Paul Boyd, and Paul Hershall. Global Mechanic's executive producer is Matthew Charde. Naked Creative's creative director Jim Whitney, senior copywriter Greg Gray and account director Simon Billing worked with producer Sharone Ostrovsky. Sound Design was by Vapor Music.

Global Mechanic recent commercial work includes a major stop motion campaign for MTS and Cossette, a package of drawn animation spots for DDB and Healthy U, and a recently completed campaign for Kellogg's.

Recent TV series work includes the second season of "FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman" for WGBH and PBS Kids and "All Terrain Brain" for Three Chicks Media.

Their latest films are Bruce Alcock's "At the Quinte Hotel" and Dan Sousa's "Fable". Both continue to compete at festivals worldwide, including Sundance, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Chicago International Film Festival, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, the San Francisco Film Festival and the Annecy Film Festival. "Quinte" won best Canadian animated short in Ottawa and the Golden Gate award in San Francisco.
