CHUTZPAH SLOSHES GIANT SOAP LAKE LAVA LAMP

SOAP LAKE, WA. The $25 million Giant Lava Project has stumbled to a sudden halt.

The Lava Lamp project captured front page on local and worldwide news. Even the Mayor and City Council supported the $25 million project, while Soap Lakers are forced to let their yards dry up; street lighting goes dark; city abandons the Soap Lake Ambulance; city eliminates police jobs; city turns sewer treatment over to private contractor; businesses left are operating in the red and the city struggles to survive.

Floating an idea, which would have cost $25 million for a 60-foot giant lava lamp would have done little to promote economic development.

The Soap Lake Giant Lava Lamp goes down in local folklore as another wacky idea promoted to attract fame and fortune and self-attention seeking front-page headlines.

A few called the Giant Lava Lamp idea a genius idea. The problems of Soap Lake run much deeper then a little Lava Love will fix.
