National Children's Art Expert Offers Party Tips as Summer Celebrations Begin

Plan the perfect children's birthday party with helpful hints and ideas from children's art enrichment program owner.

New Braunfels, TX (PRWEB) May 25, 2007 -- Need help curing the typical ho-hum birthday party? "When it comes to great children's parties, the kids remember the stimulating activities, not the food, cake or color of the napkins," says children's art expert Shell Herman.

"Getting children involved in fun, imaginative projects makes for a great, memorable party especially when their excitement and creativity levels are running high," says Herman, CEO and co-founder of KidzArt, an art enrichment program for kids of all ages that offers all inclusive, age appropriate, themed party packages.

Herman offers the following tips for making your children's birthday party a success:

1.    Have Plenty to Do- For kids of all ages, provide plenty of fun, interesting activities for them to participate in. "Children want to be kept busy doing something exciting or creative," says Herman. "Always plan for more activities than you'll have time for."

2.    Keep the Party Well Supervised- Have plenty of adult supervision at your party to ensure the children's safety and security. "We recommend having one adult for every five children at a party," says Herman. "If you are entertaining small children, be sure the party activities, favors, etc. are safe and age appropriate."

3.    Make It Fun and Memorable - In addition to plenty of snacks and drinks, make the day special and memorable with a special theme or an imaginative element to get your guests involved. "Brainstorm with your child to come up with ideas on how to make this the best day of the year for him or her," says Herman.

4.    Downtime Needed- Some children may need a little quiet time during a busy social event. Set up a 'haven' such as a separate table with a few simple activities using art materials that you may already have around the house. "It's smart to offer a calm, quiet place that can serve as a retreat to children who get overwhelmed at parties," says Herman.

5.    Don't Go It Alone- Don't be afraid to look to professionals for help in planning and executing the party's activities. "Parents today are busier than ever, so it makes sense to seek assistance from professionals who can help make the day run smoothly while guaranteeing that the birthday child and guests have a fantastic time," says Herman.
