Proposion Software Launches a Suite of Migration Tools for Moving Lotus Notes, Quickplace and Domino.Doc Content to Microsoft Sharepoint 2007

Proposion Software, the leading provider of integration and migration tools for IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft SharePoint, today announced that its highly successful Proposion Portal Migrator product will evolve into a suite of three software products with the advent of Proposion Portal Migrator 4.0: Proposion Portal Migrator for Notes, Proposion Portal Migrator for QuickPlace, and Proposion Portal Migrator for Domino.Doc.

Microsoft TechEd, booth #524, Orlando, FL (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Proposion Software, the leading provider of integration and migration tools for IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft SharePoint, today announced that its highly successful Proposion Portal Migrator product will evolve into a suite of three software products with the advent of Proposion Portal Migrator 4.0: Proposion Portal Migrator for Notes, Proposion Portal Migrator for QuickPlace, and Proposion Portal Migrator for Domino.Doc. The entire product suite may be purchased and installed as one software resource or as individual products.

Proposion Portal Migrator for Notes version 4.0 is an upgrade for Portal Migrator 3.0, the worldwide leading tool for seamlessly transferring Lotus Notes content into Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Proposion Portal Migrator, the only migration tool on the market exclusively focused on Lotus Notes and Microsoft SharePoint, drastically reduces the cost and effort required for an end-user organization or system integrator to accomplish migration of both standard and customized Notes applications.

With version 4.0, now in beta, Portal Migrator for Notes will contain new advanced features such as:

- Link Tracking Service ensures that Notes DocLinks continue to work before, during and after the migration process, regardless of the order of document migration.

- Remote Load capabilities allow real time migrations to occur without having to log on directly to the SharePoint server and without having to deploy Notes DLLs to the SharePoint server.

- Remote Design capabilities allow power users to develop custom SharePoint data definitions without having to log on directly to the SharePoint server.

- Per-user configuration supports operating Proposion Portal Migrator on shared machines.

- Domino Directory integration for mapping Notes names to SharePoint user accounts (version 3.0 supported name mapping via Active Directory and XML file lookup only).

"As the leading product in the marketplace for moving Notes content to SharePoint, Proposion Portal Migrator has delivered significant value and success for our customers and partners. However, with version 4.0 we're continuing to deliver on the feature requests we receive from our customers and raise the bar for SharePoint migration tools." states Stephen Walch, Proposion founder and president. "With our Link Tracking Service, Notes document links will work after a migration the way they worked before it, a huge technical victory that'll be delivered to our customers. Also, as requested by our Enterprise clients, we've developed and are now delivering a Remote Load capability so that data can be exported from a Notes workstation and be sent directly to a remote SharePoint server. This gives greater flexibility, addresses network security issues and facilitates outsourced migration tasks for some of our larger Portal Migrator customers."

By leveraging the design and marketplace success of Proposion Portal Migrator, Proposion is introducing Proposion Portal Migrator for QuickPlace and Proposion Portal Migrator for Domino.Doc.

Proposion Portal Migrator for QuickPlace allows users to readily map and migrate Lotus QuickPlace site content to SharePoint lists and document libraries. This release delivers the same level of high quality and advanced features that Proposion Portal Migrator for Notes customers currently enjoy and adds full support for navigating and extracting content from any QuickPlace. Both standard and custom place types are supported and customers have the option of migrating rich text, attachments, discussion threads, calendars, custom fields, user lists and document level security

Similarly, Portal Migrator for Domino.Doc allows users to map and migrate Lotus Domino.Doc content to SharePoint lists and document libraries. This release supports the migration of Domino.Doc content stored in Libraries, Cabinets, Binders, and more. Portal Migrator for Domino.Doc also includes many advanced features for preserving document versions, checkout status, security settings and more.

"We recognized that many organizations utilizing Lotus QuickPlace and Domino.Doc had few options for migrating volumes of this specialized content over to SharePoint, therefore we took our successful Portal Migrator technology to a new level by extending it further and releasing two new software options specifically for QuickPlace and Domino.Doc," says Stephen Walch. "We are already receiving great feedback from enterprise customers and large System Integrators on this."

Proposion Portal Migrator is complemented by Proposion's other products: Proposion On Demand (which allows Notes Clients to selectively archive content to SharePoint), Proposion Portal Adapter (a set of native SharePoint web parts for Notes Mail and Calendar), Proposion Report Adapter (which extends Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services to Lotus Notes), and Proposion N2N (an ADO.NET data driver that allows .NET Framework-based developers to build their own integration/migration solutions for Lotus Notes).
