Savor the Night - An Elegant Evening to Benefit Lupus International Drink in a first hand account of this remarkable event, consisting of succulent wines, exquisite food and spectacular world-renouned artwork. (PRWEB) June 16, 2007 -- The 4th annual Savor the Night Wine Tasting & Silent Auction on May 3, 2007, at the Summit House Restaurant in Fullerton was a memorable evening. While pianist John Livingston performed, attendees enjoyed delicious gourmet food, an extensive variety of wines, and visual feast of art.
Vintners from along the coast of California were available for tasting; Rio Seco Vineyards, Rodney Strong & Sonoma Vineyards, Turnbull Wine Cellars, Foster's Wine Estate, Rutherford Wine Company, Dobbin Lane, Clos Du Val Wine Company, Moet, Beam Wine Estates, Pine Ridge Winery/Archery Summit Winery, Brassfield Estates Wine, Newton Vineyard/Cape Mentelle and water was provided by Evian.
While enjoying the fabulous variety of wines, a silent auction kept the event lively and sparked friendly competition. A Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bucket filled with a signature 2000 vintage Rose' Champagne, Hermes, and Thomas Pink merchandise, romantic weekend vinyard getaways, massage sessions, and signed bottles of wine were just some of the diverse assortment bidders had to choose from.
We are especially grateful to each of the following artists for contributing original pieces: Tony Todd, commissioned for the Queen and Prince Philip for their Golden Wedding anniversary; Jo Pryor, who takes her inspiration from all the bright colorful women who are her friends; Tracy Manning, who's style is reminiscent of the impressionists; Michael Kearsy, who evokes the moods of nature through his own expression of earth, sea and sky; Steve Greaves, who has been influenced by the American Photorealists; and finally Darren Baker, who is one of England's leading painters, his paintings hang in private and public collections, including Downing St. and St. James Palace.
Walfrido Garcia, a Hawaiian artist, whose work has hung along side Wyland and John Pitre, one of the most reproduced science fiction and surrealist artist, provided lithographs which were full of fantasy and beauty. And, last but not least, signed limited edition prints and photographs by Stuart Haden, Jane Cartney, Jamie Summers, and Elle Wilson and Annie Taylor found new residences.
Lupus International would also like to extend our heartfelt "appreciation" to our chairpersons, Noel and Dickson Lew, their unwavering dedication and willingness to give so much of themselves. Also to the Summit House General Manager, Mark Elliot and Special Events Manager, Carmen Kaiser who contributed so much time to make the event a triumph.
Also, "thank you" to all our volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a huge success. Without the commitment of these wonderful people, our goal of continuing to offer patient services and education would not be possible. Last, but not least, a big thank you to everyone who attended the event. We sincerely hope you enjoyed this year's event and we look forward to seeing you in 2008.
