Training Developer Adds Blended Learning Portal to Mix The Source Training, Inc. announced it has added a Blended Learning Portal to complement its lineup of custom training components. As a multi-format developer, the product helps create a central access point for any of the eight training formats The Source Training develops for its clients. Syracuse, UT (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- The Source Training's new Blended Learning Portal (http://www.thesourcetraining.com/features/BLP.html) provides eLearners with the ability to access training content in a variety of formats. According to Steve Thorpe, Director of Sales, "each day more and more companies are realizing the benefits of providing their employees and/or clients a variety of options for accessing important content. The Blended Learning Portal allows them to access whichever type of content best fits their learning needs."
Founded in 2003, The Source Training created a system that allows content to be delivered up to eight different ways from a single set of source files. "Some learners want to read a manual, others want an engaging multimedia presentation, while others still might choose instructor-led courses, or iPods. With the addition of the BLP, students can quickly find the format they need at any given point in time."
The Blended Learning Portal is a natural extension of the eight for one system developed by The Source Training.
After logging in to the Portal, a user is presented with a list of courses in which they are enrolled. After selecting the appropriate course, the student is presented with a list of course events. Icons display to indicate the available formats for each course event. Events may be items such as an overview, scenario, assessment or any of The Source Training's modules. http://www.thesourcetraining.com/modules/modules.html. Course-level information is also accessible from the course event screen. This includes custom components such as a course-blog, course glossary, course news, personal messaging, etc.
"In the past, each of our training formats existed completely independent of each other. This meant that web-based users might never know that a PocketPC version of the materials was available. With the Blended Learning Portal, learners don't need to access separate systems in order to access training content in a variety of formats."
