Gem Diamond Company Launches Latin American Promotional Campaign Gem Diamond Company, internet retailer of certified diamonds and fine jewelry (www.gemdiamond.com) announces a promotional campaign to introduce their retail store and e-commerce site to the Houston metropolitan Hispanic market. Houston, TX (PRWEB) June 12, 2007 -- Gem Diamond Company, internet retailer of certified diamonds and fine jewelry (www.gemdiamond.com), has teamed up with Caribbean Style to reach out to the Latin American community.
The strategy is to get involved on a local level by sponsoring special events in the Houston area in cooperation with Caribbean Style (www.caribbean-style.com), which has an active and vibrant young Hispanic following. The events and promotions are held in upscale venues popular with these upscale 20- and 30-year-olds.
Gem Diamond Company along with Shaftel Diamond Company recently participated in bringing Grammy award winning Colombian recording artist Fonseca to Houston for his debut concert at Warehouse Live on May 31, 2007, an event that drew an estimated 2,500 energized young fans. The two companies will collaborate once again with their second "Diamond Party" on Saturday June 16, 2007, in conjunction with the invitation-only soft opening of Pashaa, an upscale nightclub in the thriving new downtown entertainment sector. The first such event was held at the popular Belvedere nightclub with a strong turnout and was a big hit with the audience.
At the "Diamond Party" guests register to win a free diamond pendant by selecting a single stone from a collection of Cubic Zirconias (CZ). One CZ in the lot has been laser inscribed with special microscopic lettering. Participants must bring their selection to the Gem Diamond showroom where the stone is inspected. The contestant presenting the specially marked stone is the grand prize winner of a half carat solitaire diamond pendant on a white gold chain, which they receive at that moment in the store. As a consolation prize, each participant coming to the store receives a CZ pendant set in sterling silver, which is virtually identical to the diamond pendant. In this way all participants coming to the store walk away with something nice and are introduced to the companies in a fun, relaxed and memorable way.
Bryan Boyne, owner of Gem Diamond Company, says of the campaign, "The Hispanic market is rapidly growing in economic importance and it is a market that we feel is underserved by our industry. By reaching out in fun and friendly ways we have an opportunity to serve this market and establish lasting relationships. Young sophisticated Hispanics tend to be loyal to their preferred merchants and word of mouth is very strong among them. We feel an affinity for the Latin American community and we are enthusiastic about our long-term involvement. The initial response to our efforts has been very encouraging."
The staff at Gem Diamond and Shaftel Diamond are either fluent or conversant in Spanish as well as several other languages. The showroom is open six days a week and features a huge assortment of certified diamonds, engagement rings and bridal jewelry as well as precious stones and pearls. Custom jewelry design and manufacturing is performed on the premises. Gem Diamond Company is a member of Jewelers of America, American Gem Trade Association, Jewelers Vigilance Committee, and the Better Business Bureau. GIA Graduate Gemologists are on staff to assist with technical questions. Showroom hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and of course www.gemdiamond.com is available 24-7 for secure online shopping.
