Solid Colors, Lead By Morgan Pressel's Blue And White, Set Fashion Pace At U.S Women's Open, According to Designer Tracey Lynn Blake

For the second time this year, Morgan Pressel was deemed the fashion leader at an LPGA major by women's golf clothing designer Tracey Lynn Blake.

Southern Pines, NC (PRWEB) July 4, 2007 -- For the second time this year, Morgan Pressel was deemed the fashion leader at an LPGA major by women's golf clothing designer Tracey Lynn Blake.

Outfits featuring strong solid colors -- primarily red, blue and black--and skorts dominated the look of the final round of Sunday's 62nd U.S. Women's Open.

"Morgan's final 18 outfit at Pine Needles, a navy blue shirt and white skort with blue hip band by Polo®, with pair of slightly oversized, thick-stemmed white sunglasses, introduced a level of fun to the intensity of play on the back nine," said Blake, president and founder of Tracey Lynn Golf, http://www.traceylynngolf.com, a fashion-forward women's golf apparel line for younger and athletically-built players.

"We saw more skorts - on Pressel, eventual winner Kristie Kerr, rookie challenger Angela Park, In-Bee Park, and more clothing than ever that fit better this week," Blake said, adding that "We also saw more black, navy blue and red this week than we have at any other major tournament this year."

Lorena Ochoa didn't get her first major title this week but upped her reputation with a better look during the tournament. She wore better-tailored, flattering black shorts with a simple black belt and pink shirt in Sunday's the final group. Challenger Angela Park, playing one hole ahead of the final threesome, wore an orange skort and matching shirt. Just in front of Angela Park, In-Bee Park wore a skort and shirt set of brown and white.

"These outfits all had one thing in common, simplicity, and that is the key to looking great," said Blake. Blake's collection, available exclusively online, includes black, red and white skorts, solid red, black and white mock turtlenecks. All of her golf clothing for women can be matched with black mesh, leopard and black-grey print shirts and skorts in her collection. Matching jackets and pants also are available.

Se Ri Pak broke Blake's rule and won the ladies golf clothing designer's fashion pan for the week. Pak drew Blake's criticism for selecting a pair of navy blue capris with yellow piping around the pocket and at the knee.

"Perhaps the most unattractive pair of pants I have ever seen," Blake said. "She had just too much going on."

Pak's shirt was no better. She wore a tri-colored striped shirt of yellow, white and light blue.

"Maybe it was a play for local support--Carolina Blue," Blake said.

QUICK STITCH

Several players made mistakes choosing hats on Sunday. The most notable was Kyeong Bae wore a yellow hat with a red and white outfit. "Your hat should coordinate with something in your outfit, say your shoes," said Blake.
