Sunrise, FL (PRWEB) July 11, 2007 -- Learn.com®, the leader in on-demand workforce development and productivity, announced today that longtime client, Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE: CHX) was the feature of an in depth case study by CLO Magazine. With 28,000 employees around the globe, Newell Rubbermaid is the parent company for such name brands as Sharpie, Paper Mate, Irwin, Lenox, and countless hundreds of products. Rubbermaid has divisions in North and South America, Europe and Asia. As such, when the company develops a learning program, it has to consider what it will look like in every region. The study, written by Daniel Margolis, can be found in the July 2007 issue of CLO magazine.
According to the study, "The learning management system has been a huge savings," said Mike Perkins, e-learning manager for the Newell Rubbermaid-Rubbermaid/IRWIN Group. "It started as a small project just to benefit this training center, but it's ballooned out. Now, we have more than 10 learning centers, which are different portals for different training initiatives. If this cost wasn't shared in this way, not only would we have multiple vendors in here running different learning management systems, but we'd also have a tremendous amount of employee time spent on developing these systems, learning these systems and tracking them."
"Most of what we do is instructor-led training, where people actually come to a location to train," said Perkins. "That is also blended with some e-learning, which may be some kind of pre-work that they do before coming to class, or they have a module to complete or maybe something to read prior to training. And then we're also getting into some audio and video Podcasts."
