Full Sail and The Daily Buzz Kick Off Student Design Contest

Today, Full Sail Real World Education and nationally syndicated morning talk show, The Daily Buzz, launched a formal branding and design competition campus-wide to redevelop the look, feel and image of the popular television program.

Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) July 14, 2007 -- Today, Full Sail Real World Education and nationally syndicated morning talk show, The Daily Buzz, launched a formal branding and design competition campus-wide to redevelop the look, feel and image of the popular television program.

Full Sail students across nine degree programs were offered the opportunity to experience "real world education" and showcase their design skills and knowledge. The Daily Buzz will be entertaining proposals that will include a new logo design, new graphics package, written brand treatment, and more. If selected, the contest winner or team of winners will receive an appearance on the show, their name in the credits of both the television broadcast as well as The Daily Buzz website, and extensive work for their portfolio before graduation.

Sandra Gehring, VP/General Manager for The Daily Buzz said, "The mandate of a hip, innovative, younger-skewing news show is to stay fresh all of the time. My hope is to develop a forward-thinking graphic look that is appropriate for a morning news show, works well with our existing audience, and is eye-catching to potential new viewers. We are confident that we will achieve this through the talent of the students at Full Sail."

On June 18, The Daily Buzz began broadcasting live from a studio on Full Sail's 178-acre campus. The show is live weekdays from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on various stations across the country, including the CW network. Having the program now located on Full Sail's campus offers invaluable benefits to both organizations with opportunities in addition to the branding contest, such as formalized internships and faculty involvement.

The Daily Buzz, owned and operated by ACME Communications, is a popular morning news and lifestyle program that appeals to the 18-49 age demographic. The Daily Buzz prides itself on an innovative, casual show that blends a creative mix of news, weather, entertainment, comedy and unique guests, all while keeping a close watch on popular culture.

"Full Sail could not be more proud to share our home with The Daily Buzz as it launches into the next chapter in its history," said Ken Goldstone, Full Sail's Chief Operating Officer. "Having the show broadcast live from our facilities and offering the opportunity for our students to participate in this contest further articulates that the goal of our campus is to immerse our students in real-world studios and scenarios, while surrounding them with teachers and mentors who can encourage the mindset that is required for success."
