Marc Sandler's 'Working Class Heroes' Turns A Page

Screenwriter Marc Sandler's latest screenplay "Working Class Heroes" has advanced to the quarter-finalist round of the 2007 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Competition.

Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) July 18, 2007 -- Screenwriter Marc Sandler's latest screenplay, "Working Class Heroes," has advanced to the quarter-finalist round of the 2007 Page International Screenwriting Awards Competition.

As a quarter-finalist, "Working Class Heroes" has placed in the top 25% of the 3,411 entries submitted. Screenwriters from all across the United States and 43 foreign countries entered this year's contest, and Jennifer Berg, Administrative Director of the Page Awards, reports that their judges have been extremely impressed by the overall quality of the material submitted.

The Page International Screenwriting Competition was established by an alliance of Hollywood producers, agents, and development executives. Their goal is to discover the most exciting new screenplays by up-and-coming writers from across the country and around the world.

Marc Sandler is a partner and co-owner of Hamzeh Mystique Films, and along with partner, president and CEO Ziad Hamzeh, has created such award-winning feature films as "Shadow Glories" and "The Letter: An American Town and the Somali Invasion." Their latest collaboration due for release in 2007 is the much anticipated feature-length documentary "Woman."

Marc's screenplay "Shadow Glories" received semi-finalist honors in the Nicholl Fellowship Screenwriting Awards held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It was produced as a feature film by Hamzeh Mystique Films, starring Sandler and directed by Ziad Hamzeh. In addition to widespread critical acclaim, "Shadow Glories" won Best Feature Film at the Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles and the Wood Hole Film Festival in Massachusetts.
