I'm involved with Colleges Against Cancer, an organization that raises money and awareness at the university and in the community. I'm a pretty spontaneous person, which I believe has accumulated from my life experiences. After everything that my family and I have been through over the years I've decided to live my life to the fullest, doing things that many people wouldn't even consider doing, and pursuing all my dreams and goals. Diabetes appears to be the weaker aspect of my life. I was diagnosed when I was 12 years old, and I remember how much focus was directed towards my disease as I grew up."

Martha Barroso another young member on the site says: "I am now the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (or the JDRF) Youth Ambassador they call me to go speak to kids with diabetes, to meet important people, to go to a lot of event, hospitals, etc. I have so much fun traveling and doing new stuff my diabetes sometimes does get in my way but I get up and try it again I have been able to travel and do so much I have hiked the Grand Canyon and I have traveled out side of the country, ect I just do what I enjoy. That is exactly what everyone should do because you never know what can happen."
