Branch-Smith Printing Invests in State of the Art Equipment and Expands Facility to Serve Customers Better

Branch-Smith Printing has purchased and installed new equipment, such as a Rapida 130 perfector press. The new equipment improves Branch-Smith's production capabilities and increases convenience for clients. Branch-Smith expanded its facility to accommodate the new equipment.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- Fort Worth-based Branch-Smith Printing recently dug deep in more ways than one to accommodate its customers by investing in, among other improvements, a Rapida 130 perfector press.

Branch-Smith rearranged the location of production departments, remodeled the first floor of its building and expanded into a second building to fit a new Muller Martini perfect binder, four new Heidelberg Stahlfolders as well as a new Muller Martini saddle stitcher. Because the giant Rapida 130 perfector press needed more height than the first floor would allow, Branch-Smith expanded its building downwards by digging over 16 inches below the rest of the floor to fit the new taller press. In addition, the company rearranged the first floor of its building to give the press and its corresponding sheeter enough room. The versatile saddle stitcher allows Branch Smith to produce more efficiently wire-stitched products such as magazines and catalogs.

The large-format press allows Branch-Smith to use paper more efficiently and run sheets of many different sizes, allowing the company to accept a wider variety of projects. In addition, the press produces clean, extremely high-quality results. Having a larger press enables the company to produce a 32-page book in the same time previously needed to produce a 16-page book.

Aside from improving Branch-Smith's production capabilities, the new press also means greater convenience for clients, who no longer must conduct as many press checks.

"Large format is a big investment -- a big risk. It's definitely not for the timid," says Daniel Hanson, General Manager of Branch-Smith Printing. "Our crews are thrilled with the press. Its automation, intelligence, engineering -- everything about it -- is designed to run extremely well. The print quality is exceptional. The large format press also holds ink and water balance better than any press Branch-Smith has ever owned."

A national leader in the printing industry, Branch-Smith Printing specializes in printing publications from creative through printing and distribution. The company offers quality commercial printing services for association journals, catalogs, city magazines, business-to-business magazines, corporate newsletters, special-interest periodicals and academic publications. Branch-Smith Printing manufactures multi-page publications from creative through printing and distribution.
