Tom Torlone is a Principal at Deloitte Consulting and part of the leadership of Deloitte's Outsourcing Advisory Services Practice, serving large clients across multiple vertical industries in the areas of Business Process and IT related outsourcing. In addition to advising clients in these areas, the OAS Practice assists clients with strategic assessments regarding the applicability of outsourcing as a part of their enterprise wide strategy, including a focus on cost reduction, improved capability, and business process transformation. Tom has 20 years of experience in the outsourcing market and has participated in and advised clients in more than 200 engagements. Representative clients include eBay, Ingram Micro, KKR and Silverlake Partners, Agilent Technologies, Ashland, Catholic Healthcare Partners, Talecris, several divisions of GE (Transportation, Medical Systems, Financial Services, and Research and Development), SunTrust Bank, Avery Dennison, Clorox, Nike, Allergan, Safeco, Electronic Arts, and Levi's.

Tom's experiences as a service provider, both designing solutions for clients and managing the delivery of services, have provided a real world view of how outsourcing and off shoring solutions must be planned and executed for the realization of business benefit. As the principal architect of Deloitte's OAS methodology, Tom has leveraged his background and experiences into an approach for achieving significant business benefit while minimizing risk for the firm's clients. In addition to his work with clients, Tom is a frequent conference speaker and panelist. Prior to joining Deloitte, Tom was a Managing Director of Compaq in their Managed Services group, and held the same position with Digital Equipment Corporation prior to its acquisition by Compaq, and then HP. Tom spent his early career with GE Aircraft Engines as a design engineer and a Program Manager for projects deploying the new use of technology in engine and aircraft certification efforts.
