Groundbreaking Ceremony: Homes For Our Troops to Build a Specially Adapted Home for Severely Wounded Massachusetts Veteran Sgt Brian Fountaine

Homes For Our Troops President and Founder, John Gonsalves, will hold a press conference at the vacant lot located at 85 Valley Rd. Plymouth, MA, on September 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. to announce the beginning of this building project.

Plymouth, MA (PRWEB) September 21, 2007 -- Homes for Our Troops, a Massachusetts-based 501 (c)(3) organization that builds and adapts homes for handicap accessibility for our most severely wounded veterans, will be reaching out to the local community members to help provide a new home for SGT Brian Fountaine.

SGT Brian Fontaine, a 24-year-old tank commander from Dorchester, MA, lost both of his lower legs while serving in Iraq when a terrorist's IED (Improvised Explosive Device) that was planted in the road exploded under the Humvee that Brian was riding in. Brian was serving with the First Brigade Combat Team of the Fourth Infantry Division when he was severely injured on June 8, 2006.

Brian's home is the second project that Homes For Our Troops has undertaken in Massachusetts. A specially adapted home was completed in Middleboro, MA, for Sgt Peter Damon and his family in 2006. Homes For Our Troops has completed 16 projects through out the US and has 20 additional projects in various stages of construction.

Now Homes for Our Troops is hoping to replicate the local business involvement and the community volunteerism in the Plymouth area for another wounded American Hero. Homes for Our Troops has committed to building a home for Brian to suit his living needs. We will be calling on local residents and businesses to donate building materials, services, professional building labor and monetary donations to help with Brian's home.
