Phoenix Artist Included in Toronto Online Group Exhibit

The Energy Gallery in Toronto opened a new group show Sep 25, 2007. The exhibit will run Oct-Dec 2007.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) Oct 2, 2007 -- Work by award-winning artist JohnMichael is included in the current online group art show at The Energy Gallery, Toronto, Canada. The exhibit will run thru Dec 31, 2007.

The Energy Gallery is well know for promoting the art of innovative, contemporary international artists. Their current exhibit '2-3-d-8' typifies their vision as does the selected work by JohnMichael.

JohnMichael reputation is growing throughout the USA, Canada and Europe. Mainly due to his very inventive and innovative modern Neo-Dada work.

In JohnMichael's words, "(my work) ...is a reflection of my life. They are my life. They depict the loves, lost loves, triumphs and disappointments. They are the poignant moments of my life's journey...I use whatever is given to me. Toys, pictures, quotations, wire and string, common objects. The combines are not meant to be visually appealing, but they are meant to be visually provocative."

JohnMichael majored in Architecture in college. He has also studied the New York School / Abstract Expressionism. He admires the work of Franz Kline, Jasper Johns, and Larry Rivers among others. He has also studied the work of artists from the Far East. As a result, you may see elements of abstract expressionism, minimalism, the Orient, calligraphy, and architecture in his provocative paintings.

JohnMichael is listed in the 2005 Contemporary Artists Directory for Arizona. He is a member of the Arizona Artists Guild, Chandler Art Guild, Fractured Atlas, and Americans for the Arts.
