New GPS Phone Tracker Available for Everyone New software to turn a GPS enabled mobile phone or PDA into a GPS tracker and make its accurate position viewable in real-time on an Internet connected PC is launched today, and it costs just £39.95. Maidstone, Kent (PRWEB) October 19, 2007 -- A unique software download called "KoolTrax™" turns your mobile phone or PDA into a GPS tracker (http://www.bluetreeservices.co.uk/koolTraxManager.php), enabling its exact location to be monitored on the Internet.
Now you don't need to carry around a dedicated tracking device. You can access a new level of mobile content, and you've every excuse to get a state of the art mobile device. At just £39.95 this is mobile content at its best.
Tracking with KoolTrax™ is live and continuous. This means that you can see where the phone is all the time, and you can use Blue Tree's "BlueMap" GPS tracking software to do things like set geofences, see the breadcrumb trail and set up contacts to receive alerts.
KoolTrax provides GPS accuracy (http://www.bluetreeservices.co.uk/accuracy.php), about four metres in any direction, enough to tell between different rooms in a normal house.
Uses include: * Parents knowing where their children are * Family members letting their family know where they are * Sports men and women tracking their progress * Lone workers using their phone as a safety system
Most people know about standard phone tracking services, however what they do not realise (unless they have tried them) is that they don't really work because they are inaccurate. Their typical accuracy is about 400 metres (equivalent to a line of 100 parked cars) in any direction, which forms an area the size of forty football pitches or the area of most town centres. That's if the target phone can get a signal. They are 'on request' devices, so you can't set up alerts or view a breadcrumb trail.
Currently KoolTrax™ requires Windows Mobile 5+. A Java version (http://www.bluetreeservices.co.uk/koolTraxJava.php) is in the pipeline too. Of course, your mobile or PDA will need GPS capability too (either in-built or connected externally).
Mike Smuts, Managing Director of Blue Tree Services, commented "We have for some time provided tracking systems for people who do not, or will not carry mobile phones. KoolTrax is a natural extension of the services we provide. Anyone with a compatible phone can have tracking as an option, ready for the day you go trekking, climbing, sailing, or simply want to let your family know when you will be home. We will also be releasing KoolTrax Friends in the next few months which will link all your friends and their locations to you. This is a very exciting time for Blue Tree Services."
Key features include: No limit to the number of KoolTrax you can watch on your PC An alert button - for emergencies Boundary alerts Breadcrumb trail history for up to a month
