Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Institute Extends SOX MVP Award Nomination Deadline

SOX Institute Commemorates Five Years of SOX with Five SOX MVP Awards

New York (PRWEB) October 22, 2007 -- SOX Institute is marking the Five-Year Anniversary of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) by recognizing professionals, consultants and executives who have contributed to the SOX initiatives at their respective companies or clients. SOX Institute will confer up to five SOX MVP (Most Valuable Player) awards upon professionals in:

- Finance and/or Accounting

- Information Technology

- General Management

- Legal and Ethics

- Internal Audit

Due to popular demand from award sponsors and industry organizations/associations, SOX Institute has extended the deadline for submission of nominations and self-nominations to the end of October 2007. Awardees in each category will be decided and informed by a panel of judges at SOX Institute by November 15, 2007.

In the words of the Chairperson of SOX Institute, Prof. Sanjay Anand, “It is our goal to give credit where credit is due. SOX has not been easy for many companies and it has taken its toll on many professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help their companies become SOX compliant. I encourage everyone to nominate at least one person to demonstrate their recognition of the contribution made by themselves and their colleagues to their company’s SOX initiatives.”

Awards will be conferred at an award banquet in Washington DC on December 6, 2007. Awardees do not have to be present to receive the awards.

To nominate a colleague or yourself, visit www.soxinstitute.org/award by October 31.
