Collectors of fine art may wish to reprint the images and mount them for interior artwork as well since they are artistic quality high resolution images."

"Price sensitivity is an important yet forgotten niche market for royalty-free images," notes Vickers, "as most production companies must traditionally charge excessive fees to cover production costs, royalty fees for the photographers (sometimes upfront) and expensive four-color promotional marketing materials. Since all aspects of our production is done in-house and marketing is exclusively web-based, we can pass on these production and selling cost savings in the form of substantially lower retail pricing."

The retail price for each photo disk is $29.95 and can be purchased directly on the Marquis website at www.MixedColors.com along with other online book sales outlets including Amazon.com. Individual unlimited use royalty-free photo images can also be purchased directly from the MixedColors.com website.

The initial series of released photo compact disks include: 1) Fantasy Journey (Worldwide Travel Images), 2) "April in New England" 3) San Antonio, Texas Riverwalk and 4) Urban Perspectives (Urban Images of Buildings and City Scenes). Each photo disk includes between 46 and 80 images varying upon the subject matter.

ABOUT ROYALTY-FREE IMAGES

Royalty-free images pricing is based on the specific images(s) a client requires and not on its specific use. There are no additional royalties due on a use-by-use basis. Once a client purchases a royalty-free product, it may be used an unlimited number of times for multiple projects without paying additional fees. The only prohibited uses include Pornographic, defamatory, libelous or otherwise unlawful use of any image.

The digital images are meant to be as versatile as possible for the end user. Each image is stored on photo compact disc in 6" x 8" large scale JPEG format of 300 dpi (dots per square inch) which condenses larger TIFF images. JPEG is a 24-bit (16 million colors) format, good for high quality graphics and photographic images. When JPEG images are opened in Adobe Photoshop or other digital image software, they can be easily converted to TIFF images in either CMYK or RGB formats. The images can work on either Macintosh and PC platforms. Several parameters must be taken into consideration, including paper stock, four-color film output device, layout software programs used, types of inks used, and special effects intended by the ultimate user of the product. Each photo disc includes a low resolution thumbnail Adobe pdf file summary to illustrate a perfect diversity of selection.
