Promotional Products Company Opens New Environmentally Friendly Headquarters The Icebox renovates building in downtown Atlanta using eco-friendly materials. Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 6, 2007 -- The Icebox, an Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel supplier (http://www.iceboxonline.com/?utm_source=prweb&utm_medium=onlinepr&utm_campaign=nov62007) has announced the opening of its new, environmentally-friendly headquarters in historic Inman Park, in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
Ironically, the building that The Icebox chose for its new location is a former ice warehouse, which had been abandoned for some time. In keeping with the company's "green" philosophy, The Icebox used environmentally friendly materials such as green building supplies, water-saving plumbing and fixtures, and energy-efficient lighting. In addition, the building design allows for lots of natural lighting through skylights and windows. To take advantage of the natural light, the company was careful to create offices that don't block windows, and in the few instances where offices needed to be built around windows, sliding glass doors were installed to allow as much natural light as possible. Although the company gutted and redesigned the former warehouse for safety and efficiency, The Icebox used as much of the current structure as possible to reduce waste and cut down on the amount of new building materials needed. The result is an eco-friendly building that allows for a pleasant work environment and has enough room to support the company's growth.
One of the highlights of The Icebox's new headquarters is the state-of-the-art showroom that features thousands of square feet of the latest decorated fashions and unique promotional product displays. Visitors to the showroom can spend time exploring a variety of products and fashions, and brainstorming with the sales team to create a unique and customized product. The Icebox prides itself on its showroom, which is open to customers by appointment.
The new headquarters is located in the historic Inman Park district, one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods and one of the nation's first garden suburbs. The area, which has seen a turnaround in recent years, is an up and coming business area and now features eclectic houses, historic buildings, restaurants, boutiques, and plenty of new business ventures.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the vibrant Inman Park business community," reports Jordy Gamson, president and CEO of The Icebox. "Our new headquarters will allow us to better provide products and services to corporate Atlanta, to Georgia, and the whole southeast. I'm excited about the new showroom that allows us to provide a hands-on environment for our customers to collaborate with our creative team to create the best products to fit their unique needs."
The Icebox's new location further reinforces its status as an integral part of the Atlanta business landscape. The company, which has a philanthropic division, Common Threads (http://www.iceboxonline.com/default.aspx?ID=75/?utm_source=prweb&utm_medium=onlinepr&utm_campaign=Nov62007), plays a large role in the city's altruistic efforts and frequently provides organizations with promotional products at low or no cost for use at charitable events. In addition, Common Threads also donates school supplies to needy children around Atlanta and assists with the Atlanta Community Food Bank's annual Hunger Walk campaign and the Lance Armstrong Foundation golf tournament, among others.
