Help Charities Cross the Finish Line this Holiday Season Darryl Rosen, former President and Owner of a Chicagoland Institution, Sam's Wines & Spirits, has written a book for charity. Sharing a lifetime of lessons from business and a love/hate relationship with marathon running, Darryl's newest book will help businesses and organizations cross the finish line with their customers. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be directly donated to many worthwhile charities. Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 7, 2007 -- Everyone talks customer service, but Darryl Rosen has lived it. He served as President of Sam's Wines & Spirits, a family-owned business established in 1940. Under his leadership and unwavering commitment to superior customer service, Sam's grew from a small single operation to a multi-unit retailer with nearly $70 million in sales. Sam's reputation earned Darryl and his team an unrivaled national and international reputation.
Darryl has taken his decades of experience, from running a successful business and his history of competing in marathons and triathlons and has written a book for charity. The book, Surviving the Middle Miles - 26.2 Ways to Cross the Finish Line With Customers, is a street-smart look at delivering exceptional customer service and making people feel special. Darryl described the project recently, "When I sold my business I realized how fortunate I have been in my life and felt it was time to give back. When we treat each other well (customers, associates, friends, etc), we all live in a better, more comfortable place. And we run more successful businesses! My intent is for the book to make others more successful. So far my children and I have sold 500 books. That's $5,000 to some great charities"
"Everybody ends up in the middle miles at some point in their life. The middle miles are the part of the race where the excitement of the start has faded, but you can yet imagine the taste of the finish line. This is where the real race begins."
"What a great program!" commented Mark Rubin. "I purchased 100 books to hand out to colleagues and friends and my favorite charity Lungevity (an organization dedicated to the eradication of lung cancer) gets the money."
Before joining Sam's, Darryl received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Indiana University in 1988. Darryl became a certified CPA, practicing at the firm of Friedman, Eisenstein, Raemer and Schwartz. He earned his MBA in Marketing and Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1997.
