New Christian Fantasy Author Scores High On First Major Review

The popular literary review site Curled Up With A Good Book has given newly published Christian fantasy author Jason Pratt 4-1/2 out of 5 stars for his novel Cry of Justice. Reviewer Tonia Montgomery calls it "a book with layers of depth, overwhelming and a bit humbling in its raw emotions and internal honesty."

Only two months into his first limited printing, fantasy author Jason Pratt has scored a near perfect 4-1/2 out of 5, for his novel Cry of Justice, at the increasingly popular online book review journal Curled Up With A Good Book.

"Jason Pratt has stretched the concept of storytelling," says reviewer Tonia Montgomery. "Even in the patterns of speech and thought, the rhythm of his storytelling takes on an almost alien flavor, leaving preconceived notions of plot and climax behind. This is a book with layers of depth, allowing the reader to enjoy the action, but inviting deeper introspection into why the characters do what they do."

Cry of Justice follows the struggles of an ambitious young woman leading a ragged, outnumbered brigade in a world suffering the aftershocks of a vicious international war. With help from her colorful subcommanders, she plots and battles against increasingly ruthless adversaries, while finding herself irreconcilably drawn to a charismatic, kind and hopeful stranger.

"Ultimately, this is a story about love and balancing the love of others with the love of self. It challenges readers to think," says Montgomery, "to be active in their reading, and not just to allow the words to wash over them as they turn the page."

Curled Up With A Good Book features reviews of literary, mainstream and genre fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels and audiobooks, as well as author interviews and book giveaways.

Jason Pratt is an orthodox Christian universalist and lay theologian, and is one of the primary contributors to the Christian Cadre journal; with a reading audience in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. He recently donated 500 full production hardback dust-jacketed copies of Cry of Justice to the World Fantasy 2007 convention in Saratoga, NY. Cry of Justice is the first of an initial trilogy.
