Sales Mount with 2nd Edition Release of Atlanta Author's "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember" With the holidays approaching, sales mount for "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember" by Atlanta author, Darlene Ford Wofford. The book's 2nd edition was released mid-October and is now available on-line and through bookstores, internationally. Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 10, 2007 -- Second edition copies of "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember" by Atlanta author, Darlene Ford Wofford, aka 'The Spirited Southerner' were released October 15th. Available online and through bookstores across the U.S., the UK, Canada, Australia and most of Europe, sales for this new edition continue to mount as the holiday season approaches and books are on back-order through distributors. "An Assignment to Remember" is the first of three novels in her "Edgewise" series, with "Seven Years 'Til Sunrise" scheduled for release in 2008. The term "edgewise" is used to describe the protagonist, whose mind has shut down following back-to-back traumatic events. Told through the eyes of the author's alter ego, the book is not as much about the events as it is an inspiring story of triumph over tragedy, recovering as a healing progression, and unconditional love. When asked the difference in the first and second editions of the book, the author replied, "The second edition has a redesigned, more colorful front and back covers. The front cover still features the woman's silhouette designed by our son, Cory. We just added a structure in the background that is pertinent to the story. In addition to correcting previously overlooked typos, I have also included an 'Introduction' page and an epilogue in the form of a 'Note from the Author.' I'm excited that the response to the new look has been so absolutely amazing! I suppose it's true what I've always heard, folks do tend to judge a book by its cover."
Jim Cox of the MidWest Book Review describes the novel as "An inspired tribute to the strength of the human spirit, and of working through a process of recovery to overcome the wounds life can inflict upon us without warning." To quote Page One Lit literary newsletter, "Wofford is a wonderful writer whose personality and charisma is vivid in every word and sentence in her new book, 'Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember.' This is the most honest, heart-inspiring book of the year. 'Edgewise' is an example of how one woman wants to live in the past but realizes she can't. It is about confronting reality. It is about emotions. It is about communication. It is about life." Denna Shelton, Producer of Twenty Gems®, sums it up rather nicely in her review, "Edgewise took me on an emotional journey of laughter, sorrow and hope."
If the name Darlene Wofford rings a bell it may be because every Saturday morning in 2006 from 10-11:00 a.m., she co-hosted an hour-long Atlanta radio talk-show called "Your Inner Voice," and has been interviewed recently on several Atlanta radio stations regarding her novel. Since late spring, Carl, her husband of 40+ years has accompanied her every weekend as she has been the featured author at Borders, Barnes & Nobles, Waldenbooks, Books-A-Millions, and several independent bookstores in the Atlanta metro area and surrounding communities. She and Carl are both Atlanta natives, and along with sons Kenneth and Cory, have been Woodstock/ Acworth residents for over 35 years. She has been involved with the mortgage finance industry for 20 years, and since 2004 she has been a certified image consultant and president of "Imagize"--pronounced "image-ize--Consulting Services." She explains that she combined the words "image" and "energize" and it means "To Energize Your Image."
