San Fransisco, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- The Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Alliance will host Empowering Women Entrepreneurs (http://www.flowidealism.org/EWE.html) (EWE) Conference and Networking events at The Crossings, in Austin, Texas on November 30 and December 1, and at the Pickleweed Community Center in San Rafael, California on December 7, 2007. The EWE Alliance and events are produced by FLOW, an organization dedicated to liberating the entrepreneurial spirit for good, co-founded by John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods Market.
The EWE events are planned in consultation with the U.S. Department of State's Office of the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State for Women's Empowerment, and the Women's Empowerment Working Group, and presented in Marin in collaboration with Rotary District 5150 (http://www.rotary5150.org/) and the Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (http://givefoundationonline.org/).
Other collaborators, dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs as a path to peace, poverty alleviation, and prosperity, include Educate Girls Globally, World of Good and Project Good (a collaboration with eBay), Adina World Beat Beverages, and ODE magazine. National collaborators include the Women's Edge Coalition, GlobalGiving, and the Microcredit Summit Campaign.
"Microfinance and the Women's Economic Empowerment movement are gaining popular recognition as keys to peace and prosperity," says Michael Strong, co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer of FLOW. "We are committed to elevating awareness of the issue of women's economic empowerment to a level comparable to that of Global Warming and AIDS, with resultant attention and resources directed towards supporting women entrepreneurs and advancing a global women's economic empowerment movement." Strong will be the principal presenter at the Conference.
The highly interactive EWE event illuminates how supporting women entrepreneurs in developing countries alleviates poverty; the factors that support women's economic empowerment and how can we influence them; and what individuals can do to make a difference. The event includes presentations and discussions on Microfinance, Economic Freedom, and Entrepreneurial Culture, the three principal elements of the women's economic empowerment system, as well as a "marketplace of ideas and opportunities," facilitating exploration, dialogue, and collaboration.
