PD-LD Welcomes New Raman Sensing Team Leader Richard Nosker Brings Track Record of Innovation, Implementation

He joins PD-LD's team as a Senior Research and Development Engineer and will focus on Raman spectroscopy technology and a variety of new product efforts in sensing and detection.

Pennington, N.J. (PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- PD-LD, Inc., the worldwide leader in Volume Bragg Grating® (VBG®) technology, is pleased to announce the recent hire of Dr. Richard Nosker. He joins PD-LD's team as a Senior Research and Development Engineer and will focus on Raman spectroscopy technology and a variety of new product efforts in sensing and detection.

Among other responsibilities, Dr. Nosker will lead PD-LD's push to develop a Raman-based, hand-held, chemical identification system (RaMoSS™). Such a breakthrough would rely on PD-LD's patented VBG technology platform, while demonstrating continued leadership in the expanding field and the firm's commitment to bring new products to market.

Dr. Nosker holds approximately 20 U.S. patents and received his Ph.D. from Princeton University. Prior to joining PD-LD, he spent many years as a scientist and engineer at Sarnoff Corporation (formerly RCA Laboratories) in Princeton, N.J. There he was named a Fellow of the Technical Staff, and Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff. He was also cited for a number of awards for technical achievements in the areas of surface sciences and mechanics.

Before accepting the full-time offer, Dr. Nosker served as a part-time consultant for PD-LD since early September.
